This Privacy Policy explains how Fragment ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use the Fragment mobile app, website and related services (the "Service"). Fragment is a sole-trader business based in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia and is the controller of your personal data. We aim to collect only what we need to run the Service and improve it and nothing more.
Account data — the email address and authentication method you use to sign up and sign in (email/password, Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple). If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive only the information you choose to share.
Usage data — your focus sessions, schedules, goals, micro-targets, custom folders and "hours reclaimed" metrics. This is the core of the Service and is tied to your account.
Emergency fragment data — when you spend an emergency fragment and your current cooldown state.
Device & technical data — device type, operating system version, app version, language and timezone, plus limited crash and performance logs that help us fix problems.
Subscription data — your Fragment Pro status and renewal date. We do not receive or store your full payment card details; billing is handled by Apple or Google.
Analytics data — aggregated, privacy-respecting usage statistics that help us understand feature use. We do not use cross-app advertising trackers.
We use your personal data to:
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it to build advertising profiles about you.
If you are in the UK or European Economic Area, we process your data under the following legal bases:
We share data only with providers who help us run the Service, under contracts that protect your data:
We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights, safety or property of Fragment or others. We never sell your data to third parties.
Fragment Pro is billed through Apple's App Store or Google Play. Those providers process your payment and may share limited transaction details with us so we can enable your subscription. Your relationship with the store is governed by their own privacy policy and terms.
We keep your personal data only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we remove your goals, sessions, folders and personal data within 30 days. We may retain limited, anonymized analytics and records required by law beyond that period.
We protect your data with industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls and regular reviews. No method is fully secure, but we work to keep your data safe and notify affected users promptly if a breach occurs that risks your rights.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, send us a message here. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
The Service is not intended for children under 13 or the age of digital consent in your country. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below that age. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including countries that the UK or EU considers to offer different levels of data protection. When we do, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses to ensure your data is protected to an equivalent standard.
The app stores essential data locally on your device (such as your sign-in session and preferences) to function offline and performantly. Our website uses minimal local storage and does not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. Where we use analytics, it is aggregated and non-identifying.
The "Cost of Scrolling" calculator on our website runs entirely in your browser. The age and screen-time figures you select are processed locally to render the estimate and life grid and are not transmitted to or stored on our servers.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version here with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
Questions or requests about your privacy? Send us a message here and we will get back to you.
